Chair Yoga
What is Chair yoga?
Chair Yoga is a gentle, accessible form of yoga that brings all the benefits of traditional practice — strength, flexibility, balance, and calm — into a seated or supported format. There is no need to get down on the floor or move beyond your comfort zone. Designed especially for older adults and those with limited mobility, this practice offers gentle stretches, mindful movement, and calming breathwork, all performed while seated or using a chair for support.
Each class helps to improve flexibility, balance, circulation, and posture, while easing tension and promoting relaxation. Beyond the physical benefits, Chair Yoga encourages confidence, connection, and a deep sense of wellbeing — reminding us that it’s never too late, or too early, to begin.
The practice is built around:
Using a chair for stability, this practice makes yoga available to everyone, regardless of age, mobility, or experience.
Classes include gentle stretches, mindful breathing, and simple relaxation techniques designed to release tension, improve posture, and enhance overall wellbeing.
Chair Yoga is proof that you don’t need to twist or bend deeply to experience the magic of yoga — just a willingness to breathe, move with awareness, and meet your body exactly where it is. Whether you’re new to yoga or returning after some time away, Chair Yoga provides a safe, supportive space to move at your own pace and rediscover the joy of mindful movement.
Each Chair Yoga class ends with an opportunity for connection with a warming drink, a healthy snack and an opportunity to chat before going home.
